TREADMILL
SPRINT
EDR- Extreme Treadmill Sprint
Dogs run against each other to determine the highest endurance
The Extreme Treadmill Sprint is an event that measures the endurance of a dog. Dogs run on a slat mill for 3
minutes and the distance traveled is read from an odometer and recorded. The Treadmill Sprint is a very fast
paced event and the dogs that have an amazing lung capacity, spirit and drive succeed and prosper in this event.
The AAPBA is the first registry to make the Treadmill Sprint a competition and a show event. All Treadmill Sprint
winners and Best Time Trophy is calculated by the HDR (Height Distance Ratio) to determine the fastest and most
powerful driven dog. The HDR is a calculated formula which divides the height of the dog into the distance
traveled to come up with a conclusion of measured units. The dog that has the most units in 3 minutes is your
winner.

Here is a brief run down of the order of events.
Your dogs name is called. Approach treadmill and wait till judge or assistant has applied the brake. Dog must load
from the rear. Owners must have a walking harness or flat collar applied. The sprint will begin at judges release
of brake. Judge will announce when the 3 minutes for the run has expired then apply brake. Disconnect. Dogs
must unload from the front.

Extreme Treadmill Sprint Equipment
The Treadmill
All Treadmill Sprint races are conducted on a dog treadmill made of steel tubing and wooden slats that make up
the belt of the mill. Distance traveled is read from a mounted odometer and recorded.

Extreme Treadmill Sprint Officials

decision is final.
Treadmill Sprint Steward - help the judge load, secure and unload dogs. Organizes class entries and check
